THURSDAY

Thursday is a child who first appeared in Issue #0716 when Alix found him in the woods. He is from the dimension Fae and was found left behind by his kin. He got his name because Ivy had just been studying days of the week and months of the year, and since they don't have much use for those words in a not-very-scheduled existence, Ivy wanted to put one of the weekday names into use for his name. (She picked the day they found him.)

He became fast friends with Tab, the child from Gow who arrived at the same time as he did, and they sometimes bickered and played together. Thursday is the quiet one compared to Tab, but he can speak up for himself when he wants to. He cannot help much with the group's chores because he is tiny, but he provides company and sometimes can do small lookout tasks or can help with searches. Once he got old enough to play with Tab, they spent time acquiring their education together, making up scenarios to play pretend, listening to stories, and making up songs.

Thursday is very small (small enough to ride around on other people's heads like a bird), as is typical for Faeries, and he is moderately skinny, with lightly tanned skin, light blond hair that they keep cut in an approximate bowl cut shape so it doesn't grow long enough to get in his way while flying, and small tilted eyes with brown irises. He has translucent wings in four parts like a dragonfly, which is why he does not wear traditional clothing and only uses a wrap or a carrying pouch around his waist for clothes, and he has two antennae that provide his sense of smell. (His nose is ornamental and is really just a bump on his face. He doesn't have nostrils.) He has a very high voice for both speaking and singing, and seems to be developing typical human intelligence/abilities. He blushes easily and doesn't mind crying in front of others.

Thursday loves to sing songs that sound like nonsense, fly, read stories, and play with Tab. He has a metabolic disorder that causes him to need to eat on a schedule, which is part of the reason Adele doesn't want him to go home to his dimension (as Faeries don't keep track of time very well and resist schedules, so they wouldn't take good care of him there and his health would suffer). He is not able to process certain sugars very well and so he has a limited diet strictly monitored by Adele and the others. He is also not able to regulate his body temperature easily and his home dimension is warmer than ours, so he sometimes needs to be close to other larger people to warm up and sleeps with an electric warming device in his bed. He is jealous of other people's clothes and would like to be able to wear clothes that fit him, but so far it hasn't been doable. He likes getting cared for by Weaver because they both fly and Weaver (though much larger than he is!) is the next-smallest person, and he's nice to cuddle with. Sometimes he hangs out in a pouch Dax wears around his neck, for warmth.
