PRIYA AND RAFAEL

In Issue #0588, Meri Lin meets MJ's friend Priya and Priya's son Rafael. Meri Lin, MJ, and Priya have a lot in common as city-living parents of mixed-race boys. They like to get together to let their kids have playdates, and they talk about parenting and shared experiences. Priya's son Rafael is a little bit older than Benjamin and Kenneth, so the younger children look up to the older one (though this also sometimes leads to a little bit of bullying). Meri Lin hides the fact that she had a daughter before her son for a while, but eventually does tell her friends and accept some support.

Priya is medium height and has long dark hair. She was born in the United States to parents who immigrated from India. In the parent group, Priya is the quiet one.
