Whoa whoa WHOA, Ivy is ELEVEN now?!? Was there a huge time jump when I wasn't looking?? I wonder if this means the next time we see Benjamin, he'll be in elementary school... |

Nope, no time skip at all. More time has actually passed in the real world than in this story, so it's going very slowly. About 40 issues ago Adele mentions Ivy being about ten. It's hard to tell how much time is going by sometimes because they rarely have specific dates mentioned or milestones, but if you go backwards through the comic you can see the gradual way Ivy looks and talks younger. That said, the biggest time skips I ever do are with Meri Lin's story, and that will continue, because Meri Lin's storyline doesn't line up with everyone else's at this time. Everyone else's is pretty consistent, and no matter how much time I spend on quiet details, there will always be things happening in the background that I don't focus on as time passes.

Adolescence is the dysfunctional construct of an overfed society. In earlier times, it was called "the idle rich". By having real responsibilities, Ivy will keep learning and doing and skip that useless phase. |
