I haven't really gotten super-attached to Adele (it's Meri Lin and Ivy that make me cry... EVERY TIME) but if this is the introduction to a new story arc for her, even if it doesn't change anything, I'll be getting a lot more excited when I see her name on the comic title from now on. :-)
Has Adele ever considered wearing a headscarf and veil rather than the hood? I can't imagine the deep hood does her field of vision many favors (...granted, it is hard to surprise her, but still) and in especially bright or windy environments, it seems risky to count on the hood keeping her face in shadow.

I really can relate to the Adele when she says she want's to matter. Making a change in others feel quite different than being meaningful person.
I love the way you presented the meaning, not as a physical object, but as a acting being. Soeone to relate to or even share feelings. :-)
