WEBSTER
When Adele began to make it clear that she had unusual future-telling abilities, Webster took it surprisingly well and didn't seem particularly uncomfortable, and though he was disappointed that she did not want to show her face when they parted ways, they did end up keeping in touch. . . .
A correspondence between them somehow turned into a long-distance romantic relationship. They both admitted to thinking they were in love with the other despite having only shared one real-life encounter. He occasionally gave her parenting advice as he has a son a little older than Ivy, but other than that their relationship often became contentious in their handwritten letters and phone conversations; he was pushing for more frequent contact and an option for in-person interaction, but Adele had determined through her future-telling abilities that he would reject her (and, in fact, be disgusted by her) if he found out she's essentially an alien, so she gave him the option to receive "the truth" about her (which would end their relationship) or go on enjoying the fantasy. Webster chose option C (which was not offered); he avoided letting her confess the truth, but still insisted they should be together. Their long-distance relationship lasted years, and Adele felt she might be being unfair to him since he would not move on and find another woman. An attempt to just be friends bended back into flirting again. She was eventually forced to end their relationship when they could not come to an agreement.
Webster is on the short side of average with a slim but lightly muscular build. He is white and sunburns easily, and has brown hair cut short (because he doesn't like it to get long enough to curl), over which he almost always wears a hat, and he has pale blue eyes that he worries make him look emotional or vulnerable even when he's not. He doesn't shave often but will shave before he gets a beard. He doesn't like smiling to show his imperfect teeth. Webster wears comfortable tee shirts, jeans, and working shoes. He drives as part of his work.
Webster has a son named Gavin of whom he has custody. He was once married to Sheila, Gavin's mother, but they are now divorced. Sheila thought of herself as having a feline soul and had mild plastic surgery to make her look more catlike (nothing super drastic), and Webster was accepting of this. Webster likes to focus on the here and now, not so much the past or the future, and he likes to describe himself as a "visual creature." He at one point suspected Adele's hidden secret was that she was a trans woman, and told her he would have been accepting of that, so we know his position on that issue. He has a very casual way of talking, using familiar terms to address Adele, and seems relatively easy-going but isn't always respectful of boundaries.
