DOROTHY
Dorothy later sends photos of her baby son Sam, and is one of those moms who keeps wanting to compare notes and make judgments on whether all of Meri Lin's choices for her child are appropriate. In Issue #0793, the cousins meet when Fred and Meri Lin allow Dorothy to stay with them on her family's way through the state to another destination, and they get more uncomfortable interaction. Dorothy appears insensitive toward Fred and Meri Lin's loss of their first child, as if she doesn't even want to acknowledge that Amanda existed, and when Meri Lin sets her straight on how she'd like her absent child included and doesn't want her erased to spare her feelings, Dorothy offers to connect Meri Lin with a friend of hers who can make a book about Amanda's story. The book, sadly, turns out to be too generic and too focused on a child who has died to serve any purpose for Meri Lin, which is diappointing. Fred makes it clear that this is how his sister generally is, and that they should not have high hopes for authentic reflections on grief from her.
Dorothy resembles her brother: she is tall with wavy blond hair, light eyes, and pale skin. She wears her hair relatively short. Her clothing is generally relatively upscale and she does tend to wear tasteful makeup and jewelry. She is married to Dennis and is a doting mother to Sam.
