Dax <3 . So it has been 10 years and Alix was still a teenager, huh? |
swankivy |
Yeah! Back in Issue #269 he told Dax he was nineteen when they were just getting to know each other! |

Alix was a teenager when he ran away to the circus? |
swankivy |
Yes, Alix was a teenager when he did everything he did before we met him in Issue #269. For the record, characterizing all people who work in circuses as "running away" to work there isn't accurate. |

It's kind of a cliché trope that kids running away from home go to work in the circus (heck, We're Back, A Dinosaur Story was all about that). I just assumed he ran away because he's a freak, or his parents kicked him out? Was he a orphan or what? |

I know that people say "ran away to join the circus" all the time. But as established many many times, "tropes" are not the inspiration for how I write this story. Alix still has a relationship with his parents (which we learn about when Weaver teases him about them giving him money). Being a "freak" certainly figures into Alix's decisions not to live in human society, but he was not forced into any of his situations, by his parents or by others. |
