I've always wondered how it works out that food and drink are compatible with people from another dimension/planet/etc. We have enough problems just on earth, e.g. sending potatoes to Africa during a famine poisoned them - as they were not used to the solanine.

Yeah, it's lucky they can even breathe. But if they can, maybe their circumstances are similar in other ways. I think Neptune is a good example of being on the borderline regarding edible food--one of the earlier issues goes into how she doesn't eat the animals and that she can only eat certain foods, and also she doesn't smell appetizing to Earth animals.

Your plot, storytelling, choice of words and characters are overwhelmingly insightful, exceptionally deep and rich, and so, so very human while staying unearthly and magical at the same time.
