I have to admit I really liked this. It is, at the core, why Dax named
him Weaver. While I'm sure Alix is going to be miffed, he already gets hit with
acorns by Weaver and it is "normal" unlike being bodily dumped in the sand which is
threatening. Teaching this to her means when she gets upset, she will have a
differnt arsenal of things to do -- none of which is physically damaging or outright
scary. |

I used to make acorn bread every week in the fall. Acorns have too much
tannic acid, which is toxic in large quantities (but a healthy antioxidant in
smaller quantities, like in tea), but are otherwise highly nutritious. Some oak
varieties are low enough in tannic acid to not need processing. Most varieties
require leaching most of the tannic acid by boiling or soaking in water. Sample
