I cried on this one. I like how you got into Melanie's head to write the letter. Thought that Mr. Erick could read it aloud to Ivy, but he did tell her the news. Can't imagine growing up as alone as Ivy will be now.

touching yet cute/funny issue this week. i laughed at the bit about Ivy wiping her face on the paper/having to wipe her butt/peeing on herself.
will Melanie still be in the comic or does she go away from the comic for a while now/come back in the future?

Wow, this is making me cry. I wonder what Melanie's dad is like. Maybe she can confide in him?
I SO sympathize with Mr. Erick. It's sad that Amanda doesn't know how sad she will probably soon be.

Notice how everyone else feels typical empathy for a sad situation and then here is Bill again making insensitive, unkind comments celebrating the absence of characters because he doesn't like how they speak (and making snotty comments about their author). Nobody else had an extraordinarily inappropriate reaction like this (and certainly didn't repeat it ad nauseum, like, in case someone somewhere might have missed that you hate these characters), and nobody thinks acting like that is clever.
