This episode is brilliant. It might be my favorite one yet. I for one am not at ALL surprised to see this from Meri Lin. She may have seemed weak in less significant situations (though I never really thought she was -- I mean, look what she's already had to deal with!) but who cared if she whined a little back then? It didn't hurt anything. Whereas now, when she knows she has to get it together, she does. I am not at all surprised by this. I always knew she had it in her!
I thought you captured just the right haggard look in poor Fred's face in that first panel. Really well done. Bravo!

Wow, I feel like yelling out my window too. Meri Lin's hidden strength shows through. Poor Fred, that last panel, he's about to break down.
