Dax's inner monologue sounds a lot more alien than Weaver. They're from the same world and their people co-operate, right?
I theorize they were best friends or at least partners (PROPHET partners, get your head out of the gutter) before they left, and I'm assuming they came out of the same lake (but maybe not).

I use a lot of informal language to get his "flavor" right, even before he's able to pick all that up from television and choose his tone. It does make him sound more relatable.
Dax and Weaver aren't prophets. Not sure where you'd get the idea that they were, since neither has prophesied anything. The lakes they came out of are different lakes. (One is basically in the jailer's backyard. The other is near a beach.) Whether they knew each other I won't weigh in on.

Well, nothing in the story has suggested either of them is psychic, and they both went through the "pandimensional current," so there's your answer!
